I am a PhD candidate at Imperial College London in Applied Mathematics. I was graduated as an Electrical & Electronics Engineer from Bogazici University in 2014, and MSc in Finance from Sabanci University in 2015. I have been employed by a telecom network, a social data agency, and a global broadcaster for various positions. I have worked as a marketing professional specialised in Digital Media, a project manager to build social CRM services for multinational companies, a data analyst for social data analytics for marketing and customer care, and a data scientist. Currently, I am affiliated with a research group at Imperial College London and TRT Network’s Audience Insights team.

Research Interests

My research interest lies where #mathematics joins #humanities based on #data. There has to be people and algorithms involved in.

In general, I like working on various subjects related to natural language, social networks, community detection, and data science.

• [2018/09/25] - I made an oral presentation at CCS’2018 in Thessaloniki - Greece.

• [2018/08/20] - We submitted a conference paper to 2018 KDD Workshop on Machine Learning for Medicine and Healthcare. I made a lightening speech and presented our poster.

• [2018/08/20] - We submitted a conference paper to Data Science, Journalism and Media workshop of KDD2018. I made an oral presentation at London - United Kingdom.

• [2018/06/11] - Our abstract was selected the best submission to NetMed (satellite to NetSci 2018) and I made an oral presentation in Paris - France. Here is the full program.

• [2017/12/11] - I was invited to make a speech at TRT’s Umep Training Program in Antalya - Turkey.

• [2016/10/25] - I started my PhD at Imperial College London under supervision of Professor Mauricio Barahona and Professor Sophia Yaliraki.
